New primary school considered on town planning grounds
An
application for a new primary school at Carrara will be judged on town
planning grounds, according to Gold Coast City Council’s Acting City
Planning Committee Chair, Councillor John Wayne.
The application, from the Australian International Islamic College,
passed its first hurdle today (3/2) with a recommendation from the City
Planning Committee that it be approved by the full Council when it
meets on Monday (9/2).
Cr Wayne said the town planning application had been subjected to a thorough town planning assessment process.
“We have no legal authority to determine an application on any other
basis, and our planners conclude this proposal complies with our
Planning Scheme,” Cr Wayne said.
Cr Wayne said the application had attracted intense community interest, including more than1000 written submissions.
Divisional Councillor, Bob La Castra, said the application was for a
small-scale primary school, in an existing house on a four-hectare site
in Chisholm Road, Carrara.
“The proposal is for internal modifications to accommodate three
classrooms, and is limited to a maximum of six staff and 60 pupils,
aged from Preparatory to Year 7,” Cr La Castra said.
“Hours of operation would be limited to between 8.30am and 3.05pm, Monday to Friday.”
Cr Wayne said the proposal had been referred to several State
Government agencies and all had advised they had no specific
requirements for the proposed development.
“The applicants have advised Council that the school’s curriculum
would be consistent with the Queensland Studies Authority and it would
be open to pupils of all faiths,” he said.
“But our assessment was done strictly in accordance with our planning instruments.”

Aloe Vera is a stemless plant growing to 80-100 cm tall,
spreading by offsets and root sprouts. The leaves will be lanceolate, thick and
fleshy, green to grey-green, with a saw-like margin. Aloe Vera cultivation is
normally performed in dried tropical and subtropical areas of the world and is
used as an ornamental plant and for herbal medication. It is available in the market
in the form of spray, cream, gel, lotion and capsule and liquid. It has the remarkable ability to heal
wounds, ulcer and burns. It is also used in a number of skin disorders. Aloe Vera will stabilize digestive
system and therefore is very necessary in providing proper nourishment to the
skin. It helps in increasing circulation of blood thus facilitating easier
oxygen exchange between the cells thus providing them nourishment.

An
inductor is a passive electrical device working in electrical circuits for its
property of inductance. Inductance is an consequence which results from the
magnetic field that forms around a current carrying conductor. Electrical
current through the conductor creates a magnetic flux relative to the current.
A change in this current creates a change in magnetic flux that, in turn,
generates an electromotive force that acts to oppose this change in current. Inductance
is a calculate of the generated emf for a unit modify in current. An inductor
with an inductance of 1 henry produces an emf of 1 V when the current through
the inductor changes at the rate of 1 ampere per second. The number of turns,
the area of each loop/turn, and what it is wrapped around influence the
inductance.
An inductor opposes changes in the current. An
ideal inductor would offer no resistance to a constant direct current, however,
only superconducting inductors have truly zero electrical resistance. Inductors
are used expansively in analog circuits and signal processing.

A money order is an imbursement order for a pre-specified
amount of money. It is a more trusted method of payment than a personal check,
because it is required that the funds be prepaid for the amount shown on it.
Merchants may welcome the extra sanctuary of a pre-paid money order instead of
a personal check, which can bounce.
A money order is purchased for the amount desired. In this
way it is analogous to a certified check. The main difference is that money
orders are usually limited in maximum face value to some specified figure while
certified checks are not. Money orders classically consist of two portions: the
flexible check for allowance to if the person can relate to the matter made
creditor, and a receipt that the customer retains for his/her records. The
amount is printed by machine or checkwriter on both portions, and similar certification,
either as a third hard copy or in electronic form, is retained at the issuer
and agent locations.
Money orders were formerly issued by the US Postal Service as
an unconventional to sending cash through the postal system for those who did
not have checking accounts. They were later offered by many more vendors than
just the postal service as a means to pay bills and send money globally where
there were not consistent banking or postal systems.

A tablet is a combination of active substances and excipients, usually in powder form, pressed or compacted into a solid. The excipients include binders, glidants (flow aids) and lubricants to ensure capable tabletting; disintegrants to ensure that the tablet breaks up in the digestive region; sweeteners or flavours to mask the taste of bad-tasting active ingredients; and pigments to make uncoated tablets visually attractive. A coating may be applied to hide the taste of the tablet's components, to make the tablet smoother and easier to swallow, and to make it more resistant to the environment, extending its shelf life.
Medicines to be taken orally are very often supplied in tablet form; definitely the word tablet without qualification would be taken to refer to a therapeutic tablet. Medicinal tablets and capsules are often called drug. Other products are manufactured in the form of tablets which are designed to melt or disintegrate.
Medicinal tablets are usually intended to be swallowed, and are of a fit size and shape. Tablets for other purposes, e.g., effervescent medicinal tablets and non-medicinal tablets, may be larger.
Medicinal tablets were originally made in the shape of a disk of whatever color their components determined, but are now made in many shapes and colors to help users to discriminate between different medicines that they take. Tablets are often stamped with symbols, letters, and numbers, which enable them to be identified. Sizes of tablets to be swallowed range from a few millimeters to about a centimeter.
When Tylenol capsules were laced with cyanide, many people stopped buying capsules because they are easy to pollute, in favor of tablets, which are not. Some makers of over-the-counter drugs responded by starting to make what they termed "caplets", which were actually just tablets made in the shape of a container.

A forest is an area with a high density of trees. There are
many definitions of a forest, based on various criterion. These plant
communities cover in the region of 9.4% of the Earth's surface (or 30% of total
land area) and function as habitats for organisms, hydrologic flow modulators,
and soil conservers, constituting one of the most important aspects of the
Earth's biosphere. Historically, "forest" meant an uncultivated area
legally set aside for hunting by feudal nobility, and these hunting forests were
not essentially forested much if at all (see Royal Forest). However, as hunting
forests did often include substantial areas of woodland, the word forest ultimately
came to mean wooded land more generally.
Forests can be found in all regions capable of sustaining
tree growth, at altitudes up to the tree line, except where natural fire
frequency is too high, or where the atmosphere has been impaired by natural
processes or by human behavior. As a general rule, forests conquered by
angiosperms (broadleaf forests) are more species-rich than those conquered by
gymnosperms (conifer, montane, or needleleaf forests), although exceptions
exist (for example, species-poor aspen and birch stands in northern latitudes).
Forests sometimes contain many tree species within a small
area (as in tropical rain and temperate deciduous forests), or relatively few
species over large areas (e.g., taiga and arid montane coniferous forests).
Forests are often home to many animal and plant species, and biomass per unit
area is high compared to other vegetation communities. Much of this biomass
occurs below-ground in the root systems and as partially decomposed plant
detritus. The woody constituent of a forest contains lignin, which is
relatively slow to crumble compared with other organic materials such as
cellulose or carbohydrate.

An
earthquake is the result of a sudden release of stored energy in the Earth's
outer layer that creates seismic waves. Earthquakes are accordingly measured
with a seismometer, generally known as a seismograph. The magnitude of an
earthquake is conventionally reported using the Richter scale or a related
instant scale. At the Earth's surface, earthquakes may manifest themselves by a
trembling or displacement of the ground. Sometimes, they cause tsunamis, which
may lead to loss of life and annihilation of property.
An earthquake is caused
by tectonic plates getting stuck and putting a damage on the ground. The strain
becomes so great that rocks give way by breaking and downhill along fault
planes. Earthquakes may occur naturally or as a result of human actions. Slighter
earthquakes can also be caused by volcanic activity, landslides, mine blasts,
and nuclear tests. In its most generic intelligence, the word earthquake is
used to describe any seismic eventwhether a natural phenomenon or an event
caused by humansthat generates seismic effect.

In economics, a business is a legally-recognized
organizational entity existing within an economically free country designed to
sell goods and/or services to consumers, usually in an effort to generate
profit.
In predominantly capitalist economies, where most
businesses are privately owned, businesses are typically formed to earn profit
and grow the personal wealth of their owners. The owners and operators of a
business have as one of their main objectives the receipt or generation of a
financial return in exchange for their work - that is, the expense of time and
energy - and for their acceptance of risk-investing work and money without
certainty of success. Notable exceptions to this rule include cooperative
businesses and government institutions. This model of business functioning is
opposed by socialists, who advocate either government, public, or worker
ownership of most sizable businesses; and to a lesser extent by individuals advocating
for a mixed economy of private and state-owned enterprises.
The
etymology of business refers to the state of being busy in the context of the
individual as well as the community or society. In other words, to be busy is
to be doing commercially viable and profitable work. The term business has at
least three usages, depending on the scope - the general usage, the singular
usage to refer to a particular company or corporation, and the generalized
usage to refer to a particular market sector, such as the record business, the
computer business, or the business community-the community of suppliers of
goods and services.

Capacitance
is a measure of the quantity of electric charge stored for a given electric
potential. The most general form of charge storage device is a two-plate
capacitor. If the charges on the plates are +Q and -Q, and V gives the voltage difference
between the plates, then the capacitance is given by c=Q/v. The capacitance of
the majority of capacitors used in electronic circuits is several orders of
size smaller than the farad. The most ordinary units of capacitance in use
today are the millifarad (mF), microfarad (µF), the nanofarad (nF) and the
picofarad (pF).
The
dielectric constant for a number of very useful dielectrics changes as a
function of the applied electrical field, e.g. ferroelectric materials, so the
capacitance for these devices is no longer purely a purpose of device geometry.
If a capacitor is driven with a sinusoidal voltage, the dielectric constant, or
more exactly referred to as the dielectric permittivity, is a function of
frequency. A changing dielectric constant with frequency is referred to as a
dielectric dispersion, and is governed by dielectric recreation processes, such
as Debye relaxation.

Life, as we
understand it, is currently only known to exist on the planet Earth. The origin
of life is still a poorly understood process, but it is thought to have
occurred about 3.9 to 3.5 billion years ago during the hadean or archean eons
on a primordial earth that had a substantially different environment than is
found at present. These life forms possessed the basic traits of
self-replication and inheritable traits. Once life had appeared, the process of
evolution by natural selection resulted in the formation of ever-more diverse
life forms.
Species that were unable to adapt to the
changing environment and competition from other life forms became extinct.
However, the fossil record retains evidence of many of these older species.
Current fossil and DNA evidence shows that all existing species can trace a
continual ancestry back to the first primitive life forms.
The
advent of photosynthesis in very basic forms of plant life worldwide allowed
the sun's energy to be harvested to create conditions allowing for more complex
life. The resultant oxygen accumulated in the atmosphere and gave rise to the
ozone layer. The incorporation of smaller cells within larger ones resulted in
the development of yet more complex cells called eukaryotes. Cells within
colonies became increasingly specialized, resulting in true multicellular
organisms. With the ozone layer absorbing harmful ultraviolet radiation, life
colonized the surface of Earth.
